About Cybersecurity at ANSER
As a Cybersecurity Specialist at ANSER, you’ll help secure mission-critical systems that support U.S. national security and defense operations. You’ll work hands-on with engineering teams, program managers, and government stakeholders to assess risk, implement protections, and ensure compliance in highly regulated and secure environments.
Most roles are on-site in Northern Virginia or the greater Washington, D.C. area, supporting programs within classified settings. Due to mission needs and facility requirements, remote and hybrid options are generally not available.
What You’ll Typically Do:
- Provide guidance related to cybersecurity capabilities, requirements, processes and policies.
- Provide guidance for and/or conduct cybersecurity assessments and support implementation of cybersecurity controls across classified and sensitive systems.
- Support system authorization efforts under frameworks such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Perform vulnerability scans, analyze results, and assist with mitigation planning.
- Monitor security tools and logs to identify potential threats or anomalous activity.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure cybersecurity is embedded throughout the system lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and security assessment reports.
- Assist with audits, inspections, and readiness reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with federal cybersecurity standards.
