Role Overview

The FP&A Analyst – Business Cases & Investments plays a critical role within the Group Finance team, evaluating strategic and operational investment decisions across the business. The role demands a highly analytical individual capable of operating with autonomy, synthesising complex financial and non-financial data, and delivering clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior leadership.

This is a high-visibility role that partners directly with business unit leaders, the Executive team, and cross-functional stakeholders to appraise capital allocation decisions, model scenarios, track cashflow implications, and monitor delivery against approved cases. The ideal candidate combines rigorous financial modelling skills with commercial acumen and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.

Key Responsibilities

Business Case & Investment Modelling

• Develop, own, and continuously refine financial models for business cases, investment proposals, and strategic initiatives across the Group.
• Build scenario, sensitivity, and Monte Carlo analyses to quantify risk and opportunity, providing decision-makers with a range of credible outcomes.
• Translate complex financial and operational assumptions into coherent, auditable model structures that can be understood and challenged by non-technical stakeholders.
• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, including ROI, IRR, NPV, and payback analysis across short- and long-term horizons.
• Work with limited direction and exercise sound judgment to determine the right analytical approach for each investment question.

Cashflow Modelling & Forecasting

• Build and maintain detailed cashflow models that integrate operating, investing, and financing activities — both at the project level and as part of Group-wide forecasts.
