Overview
We're seeking a versatile, senior-level engineer to join our Applications Engineering team. You will own and evolve the software applications powering our flagship Quidient Reality® Engine — building across desktop, web, and platform layers to shape how users interact with 5D scene reconstruction tools.
This is a hybrid position, meaning that you will need to live within easy driving distance to our Technology Center in Columbia, Maryland.
What You’ll Do
Application Development & Platform Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain applications that span desktop, web, and backend systems.
- Architect and implement API integrations connecting application layers to core engine and infrastructure services.
- Develop interactive features that support 3D content, rendering pipelines, and graphics-driven workflows.
- Drive cross-platform application experiences that enable dynamic visualization and interaction.
- Own application reliability, performance, and diagnostic tooling across the stack.
- Work on cross-platform user experiences that enable dynamic visualization and interaction.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with engine developers, infrastructure engineers, and product stakeholders to define application architecture and priorities.
- Lead code reviews, drive technical discussions, and mentor engineers.
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies — particularly in 3D, spatial computing, and immersive environments.
- Operate with autonomy in a fast-moving startup environment, balancing speed with sound engineering decisions.
What You Bring
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience building, mainting, owning complex software applications.
- Strong diagnostic and debugging skills across application layers.
- Proficiency in Python and C++.
- Experience designing and implementing API integrations.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
