Director Of Brand Marketing

Whatever your journey, Zola exists to serve the humans at the heart of every wedding: whether getting married, attending, or helping make it all happen. That's why over 2 million couples have chosen Zola as their partner to help plan and celebrate every joyful and real moment, from booking a venue to designing save-the-dates to registering for gifts and beyond. Twelve years in, Zola's platform continues to bring couples’ unique visions to life with the most innovative tools, expert advice, and a trusted network of highly-rated vendors who make dreams a reality across the country. Whether at home or on the go with our award-winning mobile app, we make every step seamless - and even delightful.

We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and execution-focused Director of Brand Marketing to shepherd Zola’s brand and amplify our story through bold brand campaigns. Reporting to the VP of Brand & Creative, this person will be responsible for building a brand that resonates with today’s couples and vendors; generating buzz across owned and earned channels.

You’ll manage our social team, external PR partners, and lead brand initiatives from consumer insights to campaign execution – partnering closely with peers on Growth, Lifecycle, Integrated Marketing, Creative, Product, and across business teams.

In a nutshell, success in this role is getting people talking about Zola. If you have a knack for generating buzz – this role is for you.

Responsibilities

• Concept and oversee execution of Zola’s brand marketing campaigns (B2C and B2B), using a blend of consumer insights, timely cultural insights, Zola data and product initiatives, and a deep understanding of our brand identity.
• Oversee social media at Zola, leading a team of content creation all-stars in developing social strategies that cut through the clutter and bring Zola’s brand to life
• Lead the development and amplification of an influencer strategy that spans multiple social channels. Build a best-in-class program by partnering with the most relevant influencers in new, creative ways.
• Oversee a press strategy designed to drive media coverage and cultural relevance; connect the dots between Zola product and marketing initiatives and press “hooks”
• Partner with internal teams (creative, product, customer service, etc.) to ensure brand consistency across the full customer journey
• Act as a key stakeholder in integrated campaign development, helping shape narratives that support performance and brand goals
• Represent the voice of the customer across the organization, advocating for storytelling, consistency, and brand strength
• Partner with Creative to develop and refine brand-level copy across campaigns, social, and key marketing placements, ensuring Zola's voice comes through clearly and consistently at every customer interaction

Requirements

• 8-10 years of brand marketing experience at consumer-facing brands or agencies (or less, with an MBA)
• Strong fluency in social strategy. You’re “chronically online” and extremely passionate about staying on top of evolutions in consumer behavior on new and emerging social channels.
• Proven experience managing social media and PR teams (internal or agency-side)
• Strong strategic thinker with the ability to turn insights into compelling, creative brand executions
• Track record of managing complex cross-functional campaigns with clear ROI
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable working closely with executives and external partners
• A deep comfortability with getting scrappy, moving quickly, rolling up your sleeves, and figuring things out
• Passion for weddings, events, or consumer lifestyle categories a plus
