We're seeking a Lead AI Product Designer to join our Design Team, focused on inventing how AI-powered devices can learn about and assist our users. You'll alternate between deep exploratory work and shipping features that will fundamentally change how people interact with technology.

You will architect complex AI-powered systems and craft interfaces that proactively anticipate user needs. Success in this role requires a proven track record of bringing creative AI vision to life through the technical validation of concepts using cutting-edge AI technologies. You'll have the space to explore challenging problems while maintaining a clear focus on shipping products that work.

Our goal is to create technology that feels obvious once you experience it. What you might do

• Lead the definition of AI experiences across HP IQ, setting design direction and taking concepts from exploration through to shipped products.
• Build high-fidelity, functional prototypes of ambient, multimodal and generative interfaces that adapt to people’s behavior across devices.
• Shape information architecture for AI-first systems, including how people inspect, edit and control what AI remembers about them.
• Define when AI should act proactively, ask for input or leave control with the user. Make its behavior understandable, give people ways to correct or undo its actions, and handle delays or inaccurate outputs gracefully.
• Work with AI research scientists, designers and engineers to test concepts using emerging models and LLM pipelines, and bring promising ideas into production.

Essential qualifications

• 5+ years of digital product design experience, with a proven track record of shipping products
