What you will be doing:
Job Summary / Purpose
We are seeking a Senior or Staff iOS Engineer to join the eAccounts Mobile Development team as an engineer on our iOS platform. In this role, you will help set technical direction for the eAccounts mobile app, used by millions of students, faculty, and staff to manage their campus accounts across university campuses, while mentoring engineers and raising the bar on engineering quality across the team.
Who you will work with:
You will work closely with the eAccounts Mobile Development team, reporting to Shane O'Connor. Day-to-day, you'll collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and QA, and regularly engage with other senior stakeholders across the wider engineering organization. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, though you will have the opportunity to mentor and coach less experienced engineers across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, develop, test, and maintain the application using Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit, with a strong command of the application architecture across the stack.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build and ship features end-to-end, representing iOS engineering in cross-functional planning.
- Perform code reviews and design reviews, set and uphold team best practices, and mentor other engineers through feedback and pairing.
- Work with modern iOS tools and libraries (Swift Data, Async/Await, Combine), and evaluate emerging Apple technologies for their applicability to our platform.
- Design and develop larger, more complex system components and features, working independently with limited oversight.
