As a Senior Network Field Engineer at Hertz, you'll lead the delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable network solutions across global field locations while supporting corporate and cloud network environments. Your day will blend hands-on network operations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization with leading infrastructure projects that modernize and enhance the company's technology landscape. Working closely with cross-functional teams and guided by Enterprise Architecture standards, you'll evaluate, implement, and support networking technologies that drive business value, improve service reliability, and minimize disruptions. Success in this role comes from balancing technical expertise, operational excellence, and project leadership in a fast-paced, global environment focused on delivering resilient, modern network services
What You’ll Do:
- Lead operational support for the global Hertz field network, providing Tier III troubleshooting, partnering with the NOC on critical issues, contributing to root cause analysis, and ensuring support coverage for network infrastructure.
- Design and deliver LAN, WAN, and wireless network solutions for field projects, including site-specific implementation, configuration of network hardware and software, IP address management, and maintenance of standards-based documentation.
- Serve as the technical lead for network initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, performance, and availability standards.
- Drive network security and resilience by implementing, monitoring, and improving controls to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and reliability to meet business requirements while ensuring compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and service level commitments.
- Communicate project status and technical recommendations to stakeholders, mentor team members, support professional development initiatives, and contribute to technology roadmaps and infrastructure modernization strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
-
5+ years of experience designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise network solutions within large-scale, distributed, branch, retail, or campus environments.
-
Strong expertise in LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless networking, routing, switching, TCP/IP, network architecture, and enterprise infrastructure design.
