Scientist

At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.

RES is looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team.

At RES, we are dedicated to restoring and protecting the land and water that sustain us. As a Senior Environmental Scientist, you will be part of a team that’s passionate about sustainability, resilience, and scientific rigor. You’ll play a key role in complex environmental site assessments, groundwater and soil remediation efforts, and data-driven reporting that informs impactful ecological solutions.

This role is ideal for a scientist who thrives in the field, loves solving problems, and is driven by curiosity and a deep respect for natural systems.

This position is based in our Orlando, FL office, and the selected candidate is expected to work from the office and surrounding Orlando or Tampa area. Approximately 20-40% of your time will be spent in the field, supporting projects across the West Coast or Central Florida. Fieldwork within the Orlando or Tampa areas will typically begin and end at the office. Occasional out-of-town travel may be required for project support across Florida, though this is expected to be limited.

Why You’ll Love This Job:

• You’ll do work that matters. Every project you touch supports the restoration of ecosystems, remediation of impacted lands, and long-term community health.
• You’ll work across disciplines. From field sampling to regulatory strategy and technical reporting, you’ll contribute to multi-faceted, meaningful work.
• You’ll grow your impact. Whether you’re mentoring junior staff, interpreting data, or engaging with agency partners, your leadership and expertise will help drive RES forward.

A Day in the Life:

You might start your day organizing a field sampling effort for a complex site assessment, coordinating with regulatory agencies, or mentoring junior staff on SOPs and safety protocols. In the field, you’ll collect environmental data, troubleshoot logistics, and ensure everything from groundwater measurements to sediment samples is performed to spec.
