Sales Development Representative

About Hansen

Hansen (ASX: HSN) is a global provider of software and services to the energy, water and communications industries. More than 600 customers in over 80 countries use our software to create and deliver new products and services, engage with their customers, and manage critical revenue and customer support processes.

Our Energy and Utilities business works with utilities, energy retailers and network operators across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific, providing billing, customer experience and energy trading software.

The opportunity

We are building a new commercial engine for our Energy and Utilities business, and this is one of the key roles in Germany to be part of it.

As Sales Development Representative you are the first conversation a prospective customer has with Hansen. You will identify and engage energy and utility companies, understand what they are trying to solve, and create the qualified opportunities that our Sales Executives and Solution Consultants take forward.

The role can be based in Berlin or Offenburg and your primary focus will be the German speaking markets, but will not be limited to them.  As opportunities open up elsewhere in our business, so does your remit and there is real scope here to build a wider international patch over time.

This is a role for someone who wants to shape how something works rather than inherit a finished process. You will report to our Senior Marketing Manager, DACH and work closely with colleagues across marketing and sales in Germany, the Nordics, the UK and the United States.

What you will be doing

• Prospecting into named energy and utility accounts, primarily across Germany, Austria and Switzerland and further afield as the opportunity allows, using intent data and account intelligence to focus your effort where it counts.

• Engaging enquiries that come to us through campaigns, events and our website, and responding quickly and well.

• Having real conversations with senior people about their billing, customer experience and energy trading challenges.

• Qualifying opportunities and handing them over, with context the sales team needs to succeed.

• Keeping our CRM accurate, because good pipeline decisions depend on good data.

• Feeding back what you are hearing in the market,  so we sharpen our messaging and targeting.

• Representing Hansen at industry and customer events, in the region and occasionally beyond it.

What you will bring

• Some experience in sales development, lead generation or inside sales, ideally in B2B or enterprise software.

• German to native level or equivalent business fluency, plus strong professional level in English, which is the business language used  across the wider business.

• Confidence and credibility bother verbally and in writing with senior stakeholders and clients.

• Solid working knowledge of CRM and sales engagement tools. We run on Microsoft Dynamics 365.

• Genuine curiosity, strong organisation and the resilience to keep going through long enterprise sales cycles.

• Comfort working in a team that is being built, where things are still taking shape.

It would be an advantage if you also have:

• Knowledge of the energy, water or utilities sector.

• Experience selling or prospecting billing, customer care or customer experience software.

• Experience with account based marketing or intent data platforms.

What we offer

• Market leading compensation package.

• Hybrid working from our Berlin or Offenburg locations.

• A remit that can grow beyond the German speaking markets and a career clear path into the wider commercial roles, as the business grows.

• The scope to work internationally with colleagues across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.

Our values

Meet with any Hansen team member and you will quickly feel like you have walked into a tight global family, one that is diverse, inclusive and with a strong culture.
