Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bridge customer signals and telemetry (primary focus): Translate qualitative signals such as “this customer seems disengaged” into precise telemetry queries, then turn the results into an exec-ready recommendation in one motion, without handoffs or delay.
- Own account health and retention: Define, maintain, and defend the customer health score. Monitor churn and retention, and surface expansion and risk signals early by tying product usage to business outcomes.
- Reconcile CRM and platform data: Find, explain, and close gaps between CRM records and platform data, so Customer Success, Analytics, and Engineering all work from one trusted version of the truth.
- Lead executive-level QBRs: Run quarterly business reviews a GM would want to sit through, leading with the recommendation and supporting it with clear evidence of customer outcomes.
- Frame and answer business questions with data: Turn vague questions into specific, answerable ones. Build cohort analyses, retention curves, and churn metrics, and clearly separate correlation from causation. Present one clear chart per point, with the narrative first and no dashboard dumps.
- Build and maintain the data foundation: Write and optimize SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions) and use Python/pandas for messy data outside SQL.
- Work in a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, apply sound data modeling (ERDs, grain, normalization vs. star schema), and treat data quality as a core responsibility.
- Collaborate across CSM, analyst, and engineering teams: Communicate fluently with each audience, working with product, QA, and operations to deliver reliable, high-quality data and systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement: Participate in code and query reviews, troubleshoot and resolve data and pipeline defects, and keep improving the processes that connect customer data to decisions.
