Your Opportunity
Stantec’s Prairies and Territories Environmental Services group is currently seeking an Intermediate Environmental Planner to work with our Assessment and Permitting team. This role supports environmental review and licensing, an increasingly critical component of development projects across Canada and globally. We are looking for a motivated, collaborative team player who is passionate about making a positive impact on the environment. There’s no end to the scope and significance of your work, and to where it can take you at Stantec.
Our team is based across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut, and while we embrace our core value that “we are better together”, we do offer flexible work solutions and hybrid work situations.
In this role, the successful candidate will provide support to all stages of a project’s lifecycle including assessment, permitting and approval requirements, construction support, and post-construction support. Projects will include small to large-scale provincial and federal environmental assessments for the power and energy, infrastructure, oil and gas, transportation, and mining sectors with a focus on oil and gas. With a working knowledge in federal, provincial, and municipal jurisdictions, you will be joining a multidisciplinary team in Environmental Services at Stantec who works closely with our multidisciplinary teams (e.g., ecosystems, water resources, cultural resources, and site investigation and remediation teams).
We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and accountable, has good attention to detail, has great communication skills who thrives working in a team environment, and a creative thinker with demonstrated problem solving skills and a drive to support clients and internal teams to find solutions. Organizational skills and the ability to support multidisciplinary teams in a fast- paced company are essential qualities. The successful candidate will support projects to meet their project management and regulatory requirements for Stantec and our clients. With a talented and collaborative team of professionals in Calgary and across Canada, we are looking for a motivated professional to help build our dynamic team.
The role is based in the Calgary, Edmonton, or Saskatoon office, with Saskatoon being the preferred location.
