At Stantec, we design places that connect people to stories, experiences, and each other. Our Themed Entertainment (Experiential Design) team works across attractions, hospitality environments, cruise destinations, immersive environments and entertainment districts, partnering with clients to create places that engage, inspire, and leave a lasting impression.
We are looking for a Project Manager and Senior level Architect to design and manage projects of various complexity and scope from early planning through construction and opening day. This role is for a licensed Architect who is equally comfortable discussing big-picture vision with clients, guiding multidisciplinary teams through design challenges, updating building information models, preparing a variety of output / drawings throughout the project, and managing the details that keep projects on schedule and on budget.
You'll work alongside talented architects, interior designers, engineers, planners, and specialty consultants to help guide projects that blend storytelling, design, and technical expertise into successful built outcomes.
This is a leadership position with responsibility for client relationships, project performance, team development, and design delivery.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead themed entertainment, hospitality, resort, attraction, cultural, and destination development projects through planning, design, documentation, and construction.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, building trusted relationships and helping clients navigate project decisions.
- Develop and manage project scope, schedule, staffing plans, budgets, and financial performance.
- Coordinate architects, interior designers, engineers, specialty consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Work closely with project leadership to identify risks, resolve challenges, and maintain alignment with project goals.
- Lead project meetings, workshops, presentations, and consultant coordination efforts.
- Manage contracts, change management, invoicing, and project documentation in accordance with Stantec's project management practices.
- Support business development efforts through proposals, interviews, client presentations, and industry engagement.
- Mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing project environment.
- Apply knowledge of building systems, construction methods, accessibility requirements, life-safety codes, and applicable building regulations.
- Guide project teams in developing coordinated design and construction documentation using industry-leading BIM and design technologies.
