Job Description

The cases that keep you sharp. The team that has your back.

ARH Canberra is a true multidisciplinary referral hospital - not just in name. When you're managing a complex critical case at 2am, you have direct access to specialists across surgery, internal medicine, oncology, orthopaedics, rehabilitation, and behaviour. You're not working beside a roster sheet. You're working beside people.

Our clients come to us because they're prepared to follow the clinical recommendation. They trust the team, invest in diagnostics, and commit to treatment. That means you get to practice the kind of medicine you trained for.

Our ECC team is anchored by experienced clinicians and supported by a nursing team who are equally invested in outcomes.

As a team we're also actively involved in ongoing research, so if you want your work to contribute beyond the consult room, there's a place for that here too.

The Hospital

Everything you need - 64-slice CT, high-field MRI, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, full in-house laboratory (including coags and blood gas), three surgical suites, and IDEXX Extended Specialist Consultation after hours. The infrastructure is here. So is the caseload to use it.

The Role

You'll stabilise and manage a diverse emergency and critical caseload - resuscitation, thoracocentesis, emergency anaesthesia, ICU monitoring - with genuine specialist collaboration and full case continuity from presentation through recovery. Flexible rostering includes week-on/week-off options.

Who We're Looking For

Minimum two years of clinical experience, with emergency exposure
Calm under pressure, evidence-based, and a strong communicator with clients
Someone who wants to keep growing - whether that's toward residency, a special interest, or simply being the best ECC clinician they can be

We welcome applications from experienced ECC vets and those ready to step further into emergency practice.

What We Offer

Competitive salary package
Sponsorship and relocation support for interstate and international candidates
Funded attendance at the annual Greencross Clinical Symposium (ECC stream)
