Job Description
What’s Data Analytics & Governance at Wellmark? This opportunity is in Data Governance which resides within the broader Business Analytics team and works heavily to improve the quality of the data in the data warehouse by influencing data decisions within both Projects and Application Change Requests, as well as to help identify and resolve data issues in production. We believe strongly in continuously improving both our processes and our people, and in creating a work environment that is both effective and enjoyable to work within.
What projects might I support? Although subject to change, examples of projects are included below:
- Support the implementation and enhancement of governance tools like Metadata, Master Data and Reference data (Informatica)
- Support the implementation and build out of our enterprise Data Quality Management tool (AWS Glue) by setting up rules and building out alerts, scorecards and dashboards
- Support Data Governance reporting through the build out of Power BI dashboards
- Support the utilization and build out of department level AI use cases (Generative or Agentic)
- Ancillary benefits of these projects include:
- Ability to understand Wellmark's approach to data management and governing data quality (SDLC – software development lifecycle)
- Exposure to working in an Agile work environment (Microsoft DevOps tools)
- Work with modern data management and data governance tools (Informatica, AWS, Microsoft Azure / Fabric)
- Gain exposure to business analytics and business intelligence practices
- Work closely to manage, maintain and enhance data sources behind the scenes from consumption
