Role description:

In Engineering, you'll create some of the world’s most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening up public places that bring people together. This role will sit within Places. We work with our clients around the world to create, support, and enhance smart, safe and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive. Places impact on the quality of people’s lives. Whether new homes, shops, workplaces, schools and hospitals, manufacturing, research and development facilities, or data and distribution centers. People and communities thrive when the spaces in which they live, work, move and play are designed and managed in a way that best meets their needs.

You will be responsible for leading, managing, and designing medium-sized projects, ensuring all client and project requirements are met. This role supports senior engineers on complex elements and structures, working with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision. You will also plays a key leadership role within the sector/discipline, offering technical advice and setting a professional example for others.

Role accountabilities:

• Apply engineering techniques in line with international and local structural design codes (UK, US, EU, etc.).
• Deliver design tasks, checks, and detailing consistent with 8–10 years’ experience.
• Collaborate with Arcadis GECs, other disciplines, regions, and clients for coordinated project delivery.
• Undertake structural analysis and design to meet project requirements, timeframes, budgets, and quality standards.
• Use advanced engineering/drafting software and apply complex design code requirements.
• Model medium to large structures from scratch, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and manage time estimates, schedules, and resource plans for projects.
• Continuously improve technical knowledge and skills in structural engineering.
• Lead and enhance effective, efficient design workflows and processes.
• Conduct quality checks and internal reviews of engineering drawings and calculations.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated project delivery.
