Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Bridge/Structural Engineer to support the design and delivery of bridge and structural infrastructure projects across Tennessee. In this role, you will contribute to projects spanning new construction, inspection, rehabilitation, and repair of transportation structures.

You will serve as a key technical contributor, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting project delivery from concept through construction.

Role accountabilities:

• Serve as a design engineer for bridges and transportation structures, including new design, inspection, rehabilitation, and repair 
• Lead, assign, and review work while providing technical guidance to team members  
• Develop engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and contract documents 
• Evaluate engineering alternatives and apply sound judgment in design decisions 
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle 
• Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and design deliverables 
• Perform structural analysis and design with increasing complexity under senior review 
• Provide mentorship and oversight to junior structural engineers on small to mid-sized projects 
• Coordinate across disciplines (transportation, geotechnical, drainage, etc.) to ensure integrated solutions 

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited) 
• Minimum 7+ years of Bridge engineering experience 
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee OR ability to obtain Tennessee PE within 6–12 months 
• Strong experience in structural analysis and design 
• Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications 
• Experience with Bentley software suite (e.g., OpenBridge, MicroStation) 
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools (e.g., Midas, LEAP or similar) 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent working knowledge of relevant design codes including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
