IBMC is assisting a fast-growing UK third-party logistics (3PL) and e-commerce fulfillment group in hiring a Freight and Business Analyst Engagement. Operating across five divisions (Warehouse & Fulfillment, Final Mile, Courier, Freight, and Customer Service), our client is transitioning from founder-led operations to a systemized, process-driven organization. This role will be managed through IBMC as a foundational operational seat with a mandate to build, document, and scale the freight and rate optimization desk.
We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and process-minded Freight and Business Analyst to manage a dual-mandate role: 60% focused on freight operations & carrier rate procurement, and 40% focused on business analysis, process documentation, and billable activity capture. You will leverage consolidated parcel and freight volumes to tender lanes, benchmark rates, and negotiate commercial improvements with final mile carriers. Additionally, you will turn undocumented operational knowledge into structured SOPs, implement pre-despatch checklists to eliminate shipment errors, and conduct cost/process analysis directly for executive leadership.
Working Schedule & Location
- Working Hours: 100% aligned with UK Business Hours (Minimum core overlap: 09:00 to 17:00 UK Time, Monday to Friday / Evening-Night WIB).
Key Responsibilities
- Carrier Procurement & Rate Desk: Benchmark carrier and forwarder rates, run lane tendering, build rate comparison databases, and negotiate commercial improvements using consolidated group volumes (focusing on final mile carriers).
- Freight Operational Execution: Handle core freight operational workflows, daily tracking, and exception management, ensuring proactive communication to clients regarding shipment updates.
- SOP & Knowledge Base Build: Conduct structured knowledge capture sessions with the Freight Lead, translate operational experience into standardized SOPs, runbooks, and checklists in Notion to remove single-person dependencies.
- Billable Activity & Revenue Capture: Audit freight and warehouse operations to ensure all billable activities, accessorial charges, and custom client requests are accurately captured and invoiced.
- Business Analysis & Executive Reporting: Perform cost and process analysis, update the Notion workspace, prepare daily written operational reports, and execute special analytical projects assigned directly by the Chief Executive.
- Pre-Despatch Quality Control: Implement pre-despatch controls and checklists to make documentation and shipping errors structurally impossible at scale.
