Is data analysis your area of interest? Do you want to be at the heart of producing Swiss Re's financial statements while helping drive continuous improvement and simplification across our processes? If you thrive in an international, interdisciplinary and fast‑paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Join our Intra‑Group Retrocession (IGR) & External Retrocession team and embark on a journey of hands‑on learning, professional growth and meaningful impact.
About the Role
This is your opportunity to join one of the world's leading reinsurers and a team of motivated finance professionals within Swiss Re! As a member of the Intra-Group Retrocession (IGR) & External Retrocession team, you will be in the center of producing both local and group-wide financial statements, adhering to various financial standards (e.g. IFRS17/IFRS9/SST/Solvency II/Local Statutory). You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across Swiss Re's Finance, IT, and Risk Management departments.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of ad hoc retro transactions by leveraging coding solutions, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence techniques.
- Maintain and enhance analytical solutions and codebases (e.g., Python) to support departmental objectives, ensuring robustness, scalability, and alignment with evolving business requirements.
- Validate, analyze, and explain financial results, serving as a key point of contact for inquiries related to internal and external retrocession reporting.
- Contribute to the timely and accurate quarterly production of financial statements for IGR and external retrocession.
- Support strategic initiatives and transformation projects across the financial reporting landscape while strengthening governance, controls, and process transparency to ensure sustainable and compliant operating models.
About the Team
Global Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) is responsible for delivering accurate, consistent and high‑quality financial information for Swiss Re's external reporting and internal decision‑making. This includes Group IFRS reporting, statutory financial statements for all legal entities, as well as SST and Solvency II. Within GFO&T, the IGR & External Retrocession team plays a central role in the accounting and reporting of intra‑group and external retrocession transactions, with a strong focus on IFRS 17. We also drive the transformation of Global Finance towards a simpler, more efficient and forward‑looking organization. We work in a friendly, collaborative and international team environment, where curiosity, teamwork and continuous improvement are highly valued.
