Corning Valor™ Glass is an example of a life-changing innovation purpose-built to store and protect injectable medicines. Corning is also a global leader in pharmaceutical tubing, manufacturing a variety of clear and amber glass tubing that is converted by our customers into vials, cartridges, ampules and syringes.
Scope of Position:
Applies physics and sound-engineering principles to solve complex non-contact measurement and inspection challenges for Life Sciences labware and pharmaceutical glass packaging. Leads cross-functional teams in developing and transferring new measurement and inspection systems into manufacturing, including designing experiments and MSA test plans to validate performance against industry standards and quantify system capability. Partners with external suppliers and machine builders to support capital projects, participates in PFMEA and control-plan reviews as the metrology and inspection subject-matter expert, and collaborates with internal and external specialists to ensure product quality meets customer expectations and GMP regulatory requirements. Also provides manufacturing support as needed to sustain reliable inspection processes and production performance.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Support and standardize measurement and inspection processes across global LST sites.
- Lead governance, run-to-standard activities, gauge improvement plans, and capability-gap resolution.
- Partner with QA and Process Engineering to define equipment requirements, specifications, setup, and job-change procedures.
- Coordinate technology transfer, installation, expansion, and migration of new inspection systems across sites.
