DHL Global Forwarding (Denmark) is looking for an experienced Air Freight Pricing Specialist
At DHL Global Forwarding, competitive air freight solutions are about more than offering the lowest price. They are about understanding the market, making commercially sound decisions and finding the right balance between cost, capacity, service quality and customer expectations.
As our new Air Freight Pricing Specialist, you will play a central role in supporting the commercial performance of our air freight product. You will be responsible for developing competitive pricing solutions, supporting tenders and ensuring that our pricing decisions reflect both market conditions and business objectives.
Working closely with airlines, customers and colleagues across Sales, Operations and our international network, you will translate market insights and commercial requirements into pricing solutions that strengthen our competitiveness.
This is a role for someone who understands the dynamics of international air freight, enjoys working with commercial data and negotiations, and takes ownership of delivering accurate and competitive solutions – often within tight deadlines.
You will become part of our Air Freight pricing organization, where market knowledge, commercial judgement and collaboration are essential to success.
Your key responsibilities in the role will be to:
- prepare and deliver competitive air freight quotations, RFQs and tenders, ensuring accurate pricing, timely submissions and alignment with customer requirements.
- support the implementation of our air freight pricing strategy, balancing commercial objectives, profitability and company guidelines.
- negotiate competitive rates and service conditions with airlines and other suppliers, considering cost, capacity, service quality and transit time requirements.
- build and maintain strong relationships with airline partners, customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration on commercial opportunities and high-priority tenders.
- monitor air freight market developments, capacity, rates and trade lane opportunities, and analyze airline performance to support informed pricing decisions.
- maintain accurate tariffs, pricing databases and supporting tools, while identifying opportunities to improve pricing processes, efficiency and competitiveness.
- share knowledge and provide guidance to colleagues on complex pricing matters, contributing to continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
We are looking for someone, who:
- combines a strong operational understanding with the ability to see opportunities for improvement and development.
- enjoys leading change and understands that successful implementation requires both clear direction and involvement of the people affected.
- works in a structured and analytical manner, using data and operational insights to support decisions.
- takes ownership of challenges and follows improvement initiatives through to completion.
- can balance operational efficiency, quality, compliance and customer expectations.
- communicates clearly and confidently with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- can influence and create alignment across teams and functions, even without direct managerial authority.
- enjoys developing colleagues, sharing knowledge and building a culture of continuous improvement.
- is comfortable working in an international organization where local priorities and global standards must work together.
We expect you to have:
- have more than 4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within air freight forwarding, pricing or airline-related commercial activities.
- have a solid understanding of air freight products, market dynamics and commercial pricing principles.
- have experience working with quotations, RFQs, tenders or commercial negotiations.
- be comfortable analysing pricing information, market data and commercial performance.
- have strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with pricing tools or databases.
- have experience collaborating with airlines, suppliers or other commercial stakeholders.
- hold a Bachelor's degree or have equivalent relevant experience and qualifications.
- be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Danish language skills are considered an advantage.
And from us, you can expect:
- a specialist role with direct influence on the commercial competitiveness of our air freight product.
- the opportunity to work with international airline partners and global freight forwarding networks.
- a position in a global organization with extensive professional and personal development opportunities.
- close collaboration with experienced colleagues across Sales, Operations and our international organization.
- a working environment where commercial judgement, collaboration and responsibility are valued.
- being part of THE logistics company for the world.
- pension, health insurance, internal development opportunities and more.
Workplace: DHL Global Forwarding, Hedegaardsvej 88, 2300 Copenhagen S – and as part of the job, you will have some traveling, mostly domestically, but as well internationally.
Working hours: The position is a full-time position
The compensation package:
