Art Director

Who We Are
Hi! We’re Thinkingbox. You might not have heard of us in the UK yet and that’s okay. We are the brief to built agency, founded in North America. Creating innovative digital, experiential, social, and content, we partner with leading brands across industries like sports, gaming, entertainment, and technology. We believe the hands that carefully craft the work should belong to the minds that dreamed it. So while others pass the buck, we’re already building. Because our thinkers are also the makers. Culture is at the heart of who we are, and our offices are hubs of natural collaboration.

That’s the spirit we’ve brought to London.  We’re looking for our next Executive Producer: someone who can move between worlds, from the cultural heat of gaming and entertainment to the polished universe of fintech, fashion, and lifestyle.  This isn’t about playing it safe. It’s about building brands that feel iconic, and crafting ideas that are as cinematic as they are immersive. You’ll join a crew of designers, strategists, and makers who thrive on curiosity and collaboration, delivering work that feels both effortless and unforgettable.

We’re building a collaborative, highly skilled team to help change the advertising game. We’re thinkers. We’re makers. We’re doers. And if that sounds like you, let’s talk.

The Opportunity
We're looking for a Junior Art Director to join our London team who is as comfortable coming up with a great idea as they are bringing it to life.
Someone with strong conceptual thinking, excellent visual taste and a solid foundation in graphic and motion design.

You'll work closely with our Creative Directors, designers, strategists and producers to develop campaigns, visual identities, content and creative experiences for a diverse range of brands.

We're particularly interested in someone who's curious about emerging technologies and understands how AI can enhance the creative process without replacing original thinking or good taste.

We value ideas over software skills, but we love people who can do both.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop fresh, engaging creative concepts across digital, social, experiential and integrated campaigns.
• Translate ideas into compelling visual executions, from initial sketches and moodboards through to polished creative.
• Collaborate with Creative Directors and cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life.
• Contribute to art direction, graphic design, motion design and visual storytelling across a variety of projects.
• Help develop visual identities, campaign assets, pitch presentations and creative treatments.
• Stay curious about design trends, culture, emerging technologies and new ways of creating.
• Explore AI tools and emerging creative workflows to enhance ideation, experimentation and execution.
• Bring your own creative perspective while remaining open to feedback, collaboration and new ideas.

What You’ll Bring

• Some experience in art direction, graphic design or a related creative role, ideally within an agency or creative studio.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, visual craft and a clear creative point of view.
• A solid understanding of typography, layout, composition, colour and design principles.
• Experience with graphic design and motion design, with the ability to bring ideas to life visually.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
• An interest in AI and emerging creative technologies, along with an understanding of where they can add value.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate your creative thinking.
• A collaborative, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn, experiment and push ideas further.
• A genuine passion for creativity, design, culture and making great work.

Bonus Points!

• Experience creating content and campaigns for social platforms.
• Familiarity with Figma, 3D tools or other creative technologies.
• Experience experimenting with generative AI tools for creative ideation and production.
• An interest in photography, film, animation or emerging visual storytelling techniques.

• Monday - Thursday in office (Fridays are remote optional)
