Company Description
Take your radiologic technology experience beyond the traditional healthcare setting with an international assignment on Diego Garcia, a remote island in the Indian Ocean. You'll provide essential diagnostic X-ray services, supporting patient care through accurate imaging, radiation safety, and collaboration with clinical professionals.
At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide.
Job Description
You will conduct ordered diagnostic X-ray studies, prepare and position patients, and assess image quality before submitting examinations for interpretation by authorized healthcare professionals. The role focuses on X-ray imaging within the available facility capabilities. You will work closely with clinical personnel and support imaging equipment readiness, quality control, and the safe flow of diagnostic information.
The diagnostic service is conventional X-ray imaging rather than a multi-modality post. Each examination calls for appropriate technique selection, image review, attention to unnecessary radiation exposure, and accurate communication with the requesting clinician. You will also participate in established imaging safety and quality processes and report equipment concerns before they compromise service readiness. Patient-centered communication and safe handling of examination information are part of each study.
Employment Type: Full-time
Assignment Details: This position requires relocation to Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory, for the duration of the assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform provider-ordered diagnostic X-ray examinations using appropriate patient positioning and technical settings.
- Explain procedures, maintain patient comfort, apply radiation protection safeguards, and review images for clarity and diagnostic quality.
- Operate imaging equipment, perform routine checks, and coordinate reporting of maintenance, calibration, or serviceability issues.
- Record examination information in the electronic health record while protecting patient privacy and maintaining imaging documentation.
- Apply infection prevention and imaging safety controls; coordinate with clinicians on diagnostic needs and referrals beyond on-island resources.
- Contribute to imaging quality assurance, incident reporting, equipment safety, and applicable preparedness activities.
You will put your general X-ray skills to work in a clinically connected role where image quality, patient safety, and collaboration matter every day.
