We believe that we can make big changes happen and improve the daily lives of millions of people by bringing quality software to the federal space.
We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our VA team and be part of an elite rapid-response engineering group that gets called in to solve the VA's most complex, high-priority technical challenges across Veteran-facing systems.
What you'll be doing:
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments
- Own observability and monitoring using tools like Datadog or Dynatrace to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Reduce MTTR through better incident management, runbooks, and automated remediation
- Provision and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Write automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline operational workflows
- Collaborate with development teams across VA programs to resolve engineering issues and improve platform stability
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to DevOps standards and best practices across the team
What you’ll bring:
-
5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering
-
Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS cloud environments
-
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or Dynatrace
-
Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices
-
Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
-
Familiarity with the VA ecosystem including VA Platform, GitHub enterprise practices, or VA.gov standards is a plus
-
Thrives in a remote, collaborative Agile environment and genuinely enjoys working across engineering teams
