Driver Manager

Job Description

As the South Island Driver Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of BeFresh New Zealand’s last-mile deliveries across the South Island. You will play a pivotal role in hiring, training, and supervising drivers, as well as managing delivery partner compliance and depot operations.

This role is based in Auckland (with regional depot travel required) and reports directly to the Associate Director Fulfilment.

You will…

• Manage driver and contractor onboarding, training programs, and portal management.
• Ensure all drivers are properly licensed, certified, and compliant with delivery standards and regulations.
• Oversee driver allocations, weekly rostering, and shift reporting.
• Monitor driver operations and supervise AM/PM operations where applicable.
• Manage driver incidents, vehicle maintenance, and safety compliance using existing tools and systems.
• Act as the Customer Care liaison overseer for all driver relations.
• Handle error management, asset/device management, and communications with delivery partners.
• Travel periodically to visit regional depots and subcontractor drivers.

• Relationship management experience (recommended).
• Strong leadership, management, and team-building skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
