This is a practical, hands-on mechanical biased engineering role where you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and overhauling the equipment that keeps National Grid's Electricity Transmission Substations operating safely and efficiently.

Whether you're rebuilding equipment, aligning components, working to precise tolerances or solving mechanical faults, every day brings new challenges and opportunities to develop your expertise. We'll provide industry-leading training at our Eakring Training Centre in Nottinghamshire alongside practical learning on site, helping you build specialist knowledge in high-voltage mechanical engineering. Training may include occasional stays away from home, supported by generous overnight and mobility allowances. Some weekend working is required throughout the year, with paid overtime available.
