Job Description
Bosch is seeking an Indirect Tax Analyst with a continuous improvement mindset and excellent communication skills. This role is designed for a professional who has mastered the fundamentals of US and Canadian indirect tax compliance and is ready to take ownership of complex projects, including tax technology initiatives and indirect tax compliance, research and governance. The outgoing, collaborative and initiative-taking candidate will be responsible for tax controls and ensuring efficient operations for Bosch entities by improving processes, data analysis and technology. Position will work closely with Tax, Accounting, Purchasing, Sales, IT, Business Units, Tax Jurisdictions and External Providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for timely completion of indirect tax (US state and local sales, use tax and gross receipts tax; Canadian GST; VAT; Property Tax, Unclaimed Property) compliance and reporting.
- Lead sales & use tax nexus determination, registrations and renewals.
- Responsible for indirect tax payments, notices, and correspondences.
- Prepare Form W-9 and annual federal Form 1099 reporting.
- Processing and management of sales tax exemption certificate system.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to standardize and automate indirect tax area.
- Assist with implementing policy and procedures in the indirect tax area.
- Assist with tax technology implementations.
- Assist with indirect tax audits.
- Provide support and assistance in all aspects of tax compliance functions to include technical research and analysis.
- Ability to interact professionally with business units and other staff members.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years in a corporate environment; national/regional accounting or indirect tax firm
- 3+ years US indirect tax (Sales, gross receipts taxes, property taxes) compliance, audit and research experience
- 2+ years proficiency with indirect tax systems (Vertex); ERP (SAP); and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., advanced Excel functions: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling).
- 1+ years proficiency with data analytic; desktop automation, data visualization and AI tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Master’s Degree
- Canadian indirect tax and VAT experience
- Strong critical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets, concepts and communicate findings to non-tax stakeholders.
