About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

As a Recovery Partner – Mental Injury (Level 1), you will work directly with clients who require intensive support following complex mental injuries, including those arising from sexual harm and other highly sensitive trauma. You will coordinate recovery support across whānau, providers and agencies to help clients move forward.

This role comes with both challenge and purpose. You will be exposed to distressing situations, difficult stories, and complex client needs. You’ll need to stay grounded, manage emotional pressure, and make sound decisions in situations that don’t always have easy answers.

You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where there is always someone who needs your support.

The indicative starting salary for this role is $77,502 – $86,113, depending on experience. Alongside a competitive salary, you'll benefit from ACC's generous benefits package, including a 9% employer superannuation contribution with no mandatory employee contribution, plus optional life and income protection insurance.

About you | Mōu

You will bring:

• Experience in mental health, disability, rehabilitation or social services working with complex needs
• High levels of resilience — you can manage emotionally demanding work without losing effectiveness
• The ability to build trust with clients in vulnerable, distressed or challenging situations
• Strong decision‑making skills in complex and high‑pressure environments
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to have difficult conversations
• A practical, solutions‑focused approach to recovery and rehabilitation
• Ability to work collaboratively across services, providers and agencies
• Cultural awareness and respect for diverse experiences and backgrounds
• Confidence working with systems and managing sensitive client information
• You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application
