Location: This role will be based in our London office with some flexibility to work between the office and home. We will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process. You can read more about flexible working here.

The Opportunity
If you’re someone who is looking for a highly commercial and visible role, with an opportunity to contribute directly to the delivery of reinsurance solutions across both flow and facultative transactions, Standard Life could be the place for you. We’re looking for a Reinsurance Actuary to join our Reinsurance & Structuring team within the Retirement Solutions & Asset Management (RS&AM) team.
This is a key role within the team that will support an active live pipeline, play a key role in structuring and executing transactions, and collaborate widely across actuarial, commercial, pricing, and senior leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
Reinsurance Deal Delivery
Governance, Risk & Documentation
Process Improvement & Strategic Development
Enhance, streamline and embed efficient processes across reinsurance activities.
Maintain awareness of SII, Matching Adjustment and implications for reinsurance structuring.
Contribute to expanding reinsurance capability within the team and across the business.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills & Experience (Essential)
Qualifications (Essential):
Qualified Actuary, with experience in the pension or life specialism
Personal Attributes
Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑moving environment and deliver to tight deadlines.
Excellent communication, time management and stakeholder‑management skills.
A collaborative and proactive approach, with a willingness to contribute to continuous improvement.
