Therefore, we are focused on enhancing our technical capability and build tomorrow's workforce today, and that’s why we are looking for a Power Systems Training Manager - This position is based from our Warwick office however we offer flexible hybrid working options.
To drive National Grid's Power Systems capability by leading the design, delivery and governance of a comprehensive training strategy for power systems engineering. This role is responsible for developing, expanding and reviewing training programmes; planning and delivering training sessions; managing the authorisation process; and providing guidance on creating and maintaining related processes and procedures. The post requires excellent communication to engage internal and external stakeholders and trainees at all levels. It includes horizon-scanning across the Power Systems sector and other utilities to identify emerging training capabilities and implementing them to keep National Grid at the forefront of training best practice. It requires expertise across power system engineering topics such as modelling, static and dynamic assessments, harmonics and EMT studies.
Excellent range of management and business planning.
Strong influencing skills including experience of using these skills with senior management.
Good knowledge and understanding across several Power System engineering subjects.
Knowledge and understanding of Electricity Transmission and the RIIO incentive mechanisms.
Have effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels.
Experience building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Be self-motivated and proactively self-manage to delivery continuous improvement and able to work with minimal supervision.
Comprehensive knowledge of the GB Power System industry.
Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in Power System engineering or a related field.
Combined experience in Power Industry and Academy would be advantageous
A competitive salary between £64,000 – £80,000 dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
