In this role, you'll:

• Perform Carpentry Trade Activities including the construction and maintenance of bridge structures across the region
• Daily duties will include, but not limited to steel element replacements, falsework and formwork, bearing and joint replacements and timber bridge maintenance and construction
• Be able to work autonomously with limited supervision and be able to think on your feet to resolve issues
• Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
• Travel throughout the region and camp away from home, Monday to Friday, up to 90% on the year
• Work a 9-day fortnight roster

About you

• You are a Trades Qualified Carpenter that enjoys working a high performing team and who enjoys a challenging and rewarding career
• You must have at least 12 months of experience in either bridge maintenance and construction or a civil construction environment
• You are a practical thinker, quick learner and great communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting.

You must hold the following licenses and tickets and one of the listed qualifications:

• White Card
• Valid driver’s licence
• Be able to work at heights

Qualifications:

• Carpenter and Joiner
• Construction Carpenter
• Bridge and Wharf Carpenter
• Civil Engineering Construction Carpenter
• or Equivalent

We take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously. Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100km distance from the South Tamworth depot.
