Zero Harm Advisor

The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Zero Harm Advisor to join our Energy and Utilities business supporting the Unity Water contract in South East Queensland.

Reporting to the Zero Harm Manager, this role works closely with project teams to embed Downer’s Zero Harm culture across operations. You will play a critical role in driving safety excellence, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of our people, partners and communities.

This is a hands on role with strong site engagement, where you will coach and influence teams to deliver safe and sustainable outcomes.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative safety professional with strong field presence and stakeholder engagement capability. You will bring:

• Experience in a similar Health Safety and Environment role within water utilities, civil construction or infrastructure environments
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and safety management systems
• Demonstrated ability to conduct audits, inspections and incident investigations
• Experience supporting injury management and return to work processes
• Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to coach frontline teams and leaders
• Proven ability to develop risk assessments, SWMS and safety documentation
• Certificate IV in WHS as a minimum, with further qualifications desirable
• Current drivers licence
