Senior Relationship Manager

What’s the role?

Westpac Commercial Banking supports Australian businesses through deep relationship expertise, specialist capability and tailored funding solutions. As we continue to invest in growth, we are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Director to originate and convert new-to-bank opportunities across the Victorian Emerging Corporates segment.

In this role, you will combine strong market connectivity, property finance deal analysis, disciplined sales execution and commercial lending expertise to build a high-quality pipeline of new business. You will proactively identify and engage prospective customers, leverage referral networks and introducer relationships, and work closely with internal specialists to deliver compelling, customer-led solutions. With a focus on first-party acquisition, you will represent Westpac in market as a trusted banking partner for ambitious, growth-oriented businesses.

We are looking for an experienced commercial or corporate banker with a proven track record in originating new-to-bank opportunities and growing high-quality customer relationships. You will bring strong credit capability, including cash-flow lending and complex deal structuring, together with the confidence to identify customer needs and shape tailored banking solutions. You will be commercially curious, highly motivated and disciplined in pipeline management, with an established network of customers, advisers, brokers and referral partners. Just as importantly, you will be a strong collaborator who can work effectively with analysts, portfolio managers, product specialists, credit teams and senior stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

• Experience managing complex corporate customer relationships.
• Confidence leading credit conversations and balancing growth with sound risk judgement.
• Ability to build trust with senior stakeholders and decision makers.
• Strong commercial insight and curiosity about the Emerging Corporate sector.
• A collaborative approach to working with specialist teams
