Senior Software Engineer

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Senior Software Engineer (React Native), you’ll sit within our Operations team, taking ownership of the mobile platform in a live production environment.
This is not just a build role, this is about running, improving, and evolving a critical platform. You’ll focus on stability, performance, and reliability, ensuring systems are highly available and continuously optimised. You’ll play a key role in diagnosing and resolving production issues, embedding proactive monitoring, and driving preventative engineering practices that enhance member experience.
Working across technology and business stakeholders, you’ll bring an operational mindset to everything you do. You’ll champion automation, uplift engineering standards, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, and future ready.
 

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane or Sydney.
 

Responsibilities

•    Take end to end ownership of the mobile platform, ensuring stability, performance, and reliability in production.
•    Lead the diagnosis, triage, and resolution of incidents, driving rapid and effective problem management.
•    Proactively monitor platform health and implement preventative measures to reduce incidents and improve user outcomes.
•    Drive continuous improvement through automation, tooling enhancements, and optimisation of operational processes.
•    Partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver a secure, scalable, and high performing mobile experience.
•    Contribute to release and deployment activities, ensuring smooth transitions into production environments.
•    Investigate system issues and implement long term fixes to improve platform resilience and maintainability.
•    Mentor team members and uplift engineering capability within the Operations environment.
•    Participate in on call support and provide after hours support when required to meet service levels.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
•    You bring strong experience in React Native and mobile application development within production environments.
•    Your background includes supporting and operating high availability platforms with a focus on reliability and performance.
•    You'll have demonstrated experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and production support.
•    You're comfortable working in complex environments, balancing delivery with operational responsibilities.
•    You have experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to proactively manage platform health.
•    Your approach reflects a strong continuous improvement mindset, with experience driving automation and optimisation.
•    You'll have worked within Agile or hybrid delivery environments, with exposure to release and deployment processes.
•    You're experienced in stakeholder engagement, translating technical issues for both technical and non-technical audiences.
