Senior Claims Manager

As a Senior Claims Manager, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of complex life, disability and income protection claims, using a holistic approach to support members on their journey to recovery and return to work.
 

You’ll bring both technical expertise and empathy to your role, working closely with members, employers, medical professionals and other stakeholders. At the same time, you’ll coach and support less experienced colleagues, helping to build capability across the team and uplift claims practices.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in one of three locations: Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

• Manage a portfolio of complex life, disability and income protection claims.
• Engage with members to understand the full impact of their injury or illness.
• Collaborate with employers, medical professionals and stakeholders to progress claims.
• Develop proactive claims strategies to support optimal member and business outcomes.
• Provide clear, timely updates and decisions while maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
• Ensure compliance with legislative and organisational guidelines.
• Mentor and coach team members to build capability in holistic claims management.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

• You have strong experience in holistic claims management.
• Your background includes life or disability insurance claims.
• You'll bring experience working with rehabilitation, early intervention or health services.
• You're confident managing complex cases and making sound decisions.
• You enjoy mentoring others and sharing your expertise.
• You'll be comfortable working autonomously while contributing to team success.
