Bridge Worker

You prioritise the safety of yourself and others at work, both physically and mentally.

In this role, you'll:

• Undertake labouring and manual handling tasks for a variety of bridges and culverts across the district at a sub-trade level.
• Undertake a range of functions relating to maintaining timber, steel and concrete bridges, including assisting other trades and painting when required.
• Work under limited supervision, perform routine and complex labouring/manual tasks
• Safely operate a range of small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools.
• Be prepared to work away from home throughout the year and attend after hours call outs when required
• Work 19-Days a Month
• You will have the opportunity to acquire new skills in plant operations, formwork, falsework, concreting, truck driving to further your industry experience.

About you

We’re seeking a team-oriented worker who has an eye for detail and is used to working in similar environments.

You must have previous experience in a labouring or related civil construction environment with a strong focus on safety.

You must hold the following qualifications:

• Construction industry White Card
• Valid and current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence
• Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed

You will ideally have experience operating small plant, Forklift, Crane, hand tools and power tools with a keen interest to learn on the job as well.

High risk work tickets, and Medium Rigid Licence are desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

We take WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously. Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100 km distance from the South Tamworth depot.
