Grade 2-4: $113,579 - $125,500 p.a + superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

As part of the DCJ Psychological and Specialist Services team, you will work to deliver occupational therapy assessment, therapeutic intervention and other professional services to DCJ client groups including children, young people, families and carers. Your role will be based within the Illawarra LINKS Trauma Healing Service (LINKS). LINKS is a multidisciplinary service providing holistic and culturally informed best practice interventions to decrease trauma symptoms and improve the well-being of a cohort of children/young people living in out of home care.

**What you’ll do

**

• Make a real difference working with a highly vulnerable children and families who are fantastic to work with.
• Work in an evidenced based trauma service being trained, supervised and supported by clinical supervisors who are experts in the field.
• Participate in regular supervision and development activities to promote your development and occupational therapy practice
• Provide occupational therapy supports including assessment, planning, intervention, program development, monitoring and review in line with relevant legislative, professional, and ethical requirements. 
• Manage a caseload of children/young people and measure the outcome of intervention strategies to ensure appropriate support is provided and positive outcomes are achieved for the person.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with public sector agencies, non-government organisations and community groups to facilitate a person-centred approach in developing and delivering intervention programs.
• Work collaboratively with other team members within a multidisciplinary and/ or interdisciplinary approach to promote client and service outcomes
• Maintain accurate files and records in compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities to ensure good practice standards of occupational therapy supports are provided to children and young people.

What we’re looking for

Essential requirements:

• Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Driver’s Licence: Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.

Preferred requirements:

• Experience:
  • This position would suit an Occupational Therapist with clinical experience, who is confident working independently (as well as part of a team) and managing complex presentations.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic culturally appropriate and trauma informed frameworks is preferred.
