Founding Partnerships

The gap no one has filled

Every complex system in America has a profession whose job it is to be your trusted guide. A lawyer for legal. An accountant for taxes. A financial advisor for your money. Healthcare, a trillion-dollar industry that touches every single family, leaves us on our own.

99% of care happens when someone steps outside the four walls of a doctor's office. Hera is creating a new profession in healthcare to fill that last mile gap: the Hero, a dedicated senior care expert for your family. Our Heroes educate, coordinate, and advocate for the most vulnerable population. We’re covered by insurance, so we can serve every family in America.

Building healthcare's most trusted interface

We are in the business of trust.

We're designing for the most emotionally charged moments of our customers' lives. Hera's brand promise is simple: care worthy of our parents. This promise is our moat. It's what physicians refer to, families buy, what Heroes deliver, and what the product must unlock and enforce at every touchpoint.

Our founding team

We've raised 34M from Accel and Bain Capital Ventures and 10’xed revenue over the last 6 months organically through close partnerships with Weill Cornell, NYU Langone, UCSF, USC, and Mount Sinai. Chief of Geriatrics at Weill Cornell and Director of Geriatrics at NYU Langone have joined us as clinical advisors. CFO of Mount Sinai has invested in us.
The customer feedback is the most positive our team has seen in our careers. Along the way, we threw an art show for an 88 year old artist that went viral and a talent show where every act is over 65.
You’ll build Hera alongside co-founders Jenny, Myles & Connie and a team from Palantir and Headway. We are in person in NYC. Read our story and watch our launch video here.

The role

We're calling this role Founding Partnerships (Evangelist) for a reason. This isn't conventional. We're convincing geriatricians, social workers, nurses, population health leaders, and health system executives to entrust us with their most vulnerable patients. The only way that works is if the person across the table believes, in their bones, that we will care for those patients better than anyone else. Evangelism is the right word because the work is half conviction, half craft.

• From day 1, you own the health system referral engine. This is an IC-first role. That means mapping out the ecosystem of partners: who refers, who champions, and what each persona cares about. You'll build and run outreach to new health systems in New York, New Jersey, and in our national expansion.

• You'll build the playbook ... and invent what hasn't been done. Some of what works will look like classic BD: stakeholder mapping, in-services, executive relationships. But some of the most powerful things we've done don't look like sales at all. This summer we're throwing a talent show called Encore where every performer is over 75, a community event that's also a partnership wedge. We want someone who can think from first principles and find creative ways to stand out and scale. The best ideas in this role probably aren't in any sales playbook you've read.

Who you are

• Partners trust you fast. You genuinely give a damn about this mission and people can feel that. Partners refer to us because they believe we'll take care of their patients; that belief lives in you first.

• You are absolutely relentless, but never transactional. You play the long game. You'll engineer an introduction over weeks or find the most unconventional way in. You treat "no" as information, not an answer. But every move is in service of building trust that lasts. Partners trust you because they can feel that you're not just trying to close them.

• You can deeply read people. You have a strong read on what someone actually wants or the hesitation they haven't said out loud and find the right thread to pull. You move people not by pushing harder but by understanding them better.

• You're a builder. You thrive bringing clarity to ambiguity. You're rigorous about what's working and what's not. You track your own metrics and iterate without being told.

• Based in NYC or willing to relocate.

What we value

• Worthy of our parents: We don’t leave the 20% behind, because that applies to someone’s mother. Quality isn’t a constraint we tolerate on the path to growth. Quality is the strategy.

• Collaboration must be an accelerant. Not everything will be collaborated on and that's fine. We assume good intent always and push the ball forward.

• Celebrate human. Humans are at the heart of everything we do: every product decision, every Hero we choose to hire, every person we bring onto the team. For us, empathy is fuel to move with urgency because we know every single day matters for those we serve. We look for missionaries not mercenaries.

• Enjoy the uphill. Wrestling problems this hard, in an industry this broken, is a privilege most people never get. We’re excited for the summit but the joy is in the climb: figuring out how to take down the beast, one foot in front of the other. If the hard part isn't what's pulling you, this might be the wrong climb.

• Attack. Nothing is created in this world without an extraordinary amount of effort. In order to will the change we want to see in the world, we attack problems and play offense. We’re here to win to ensure our customers get the world they deserve.

Our promise is we will stretch your limits and trust you to own unreasonably substantial outcomes. If this speaks to you, let's talk: jenny@hellohera.com
