OVERVIEW:
APEXX is pioneering payment orchestration, transforming the global payments landscape with cutting-edge technology and innovation. As a leader in Fintech, we're committed to excellence, driving forward-thinking solutions that empower businesses worldwide.
We’re looking for an experienced and versatile Engineering Manager to lead a talented team focused on integrating our platform with key third-party partners — including payment processors, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) providers, Fraud Prevention services, Financial Data Platforms, and other FinTech innovators.
You’ll sit at the intersection of product, technology, and finance — shaping the strategy and execution behind mission-critical integrations that power our customer-facing features (real-time transaction processing, reporting portals, and more). Working in a modern Java and Python environment, you’ll play a key role in architectural decisions, delivery excellence, and team development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers in a dynamic, fast-paced and inclusive environment.
-
Guide architecture and design for third-party integrations with a focus on reliability, scalability, performance and security.
-
Oversee the full integration lifecycle — from planning and development to testing, deployment, and production support.
-
Collaborate closely with Product, Compliance, and Business stakeholders to define and deliver integration roadmaps.
-
Set and uphold high engineering standards through code reviews, technical mentorship, and process improvements.
-
Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
-
Monitor performance, resolve incidents, and conduct postmortems with a view to continuous improvement.
-
Stay informed on emerging FinTech trends, APIs, regulatory updates, and best practices.
Product & Architecture Leadership
-
Lead, support, and grow a team of software engineers delivering both customer-facing and platform capabilities.
-
Guide architecture and design across our self-serve customer portal, real-time transaction dashboards, and intelligent routing engine.
-
Shape product thinking alongside Product and Design to ensure seamless, intuitive user experiences.
Integrations & Infrastructure
-
Oversee third-party integrations with key FinTech partners (e.g. payment processors, BNPL, fraud prevention, and financial data providers).
