About Simple

Simple AI is building state-of-the-art voice AI agents for enterprise. Our realistic agents help iconic businesses like Doordash, xAI, and Omaha Steaks handle all kinds of phone operations, from customer support to order intake to lead qualification. We’re growing revenue like crazy and looking to hire a Sales Development Manager (SDR Manager) to lead our SDR team, accelerate outbound growth, and open new markets. We are very excited about the potential for AI to change the world, and work out of our SF office.

Simple AI raised $14M from world-class investors and operators like Y Combinator, First Harmonic, Massive Tech Ventures, Michael Seibel, Jared Friedman, Alexandr Wang, Matt Van Horn, Suhail Doshi, and Scott Wu.

The Team

The founders (Catheryn and Zach) met while running software teams at YC, where they shipped tons of new products for YC founders, including YC’s co-founder matching site. Cat previously worked at Instagram and Facebook and earned degrees in math and computer science at MIT. Zach previously studied computer science and statistics at U Chicago and led software at PEAK6. We have grown into a strong team of 20+ and are continuing to scale quickly.

About the Role

We are looking for an SDR Manager to lead, coach, and grow our sales development team. You will own the team’s performance and help turn outbound prospecting into a repeatable source of qualified pipeline for Simple.

This is a hands-on role for someone who has personally succeeded as an SDR and knows how to make other reps better. You will lead call coaching, sharpen messaging and objection handling, and build a team that brings energy, resilience, and accountability to the work. You will partner closely with our CEO, Account Executives, and GTM Ops team from our SF office.

What We Offer

• Competitive salary & meaningful equity

• Employee-friendly equity terms

• An office located in SF

• Health, dental & vision insurance

• Free lunch & dinner at the office

• Late night Ubers

• Regular team events & offsites

What You'll Do

• Lead the SDR team through regular 1:1s, live call coaching, call reviews, and roleplays.

• Own team targets for qualified meetings and pipeline, using activity and conversion data to identify and improve performance gaps.

• Hire, onboard, and develop SDRs, with clear expectations and practical ramp plans.

• Lead by example on the phones and hold your own personal quota to help reps improve prospecting, qualification, and objection handling.

• Partner with Sales and GTM Ops to refine target accounts, messaging, outbound sequences, and handoffs to Account Executives.

• Build a motivated, high-accountability team through direct feedback, consistent support, and recognition of strong work.

What You'll Need

• 3+ years in SDR, BDR, or outbound B2B SaaS sales roles, including 1+ year managing or formally leading an SDR team.

• A track record of meeting or exceeding targets as an SDR and helping a team deliver qualified pipeline.

• Strong cold-calling skills and the ability to coach reps through real calls, messaging, and objections.

• Experience improving rep performance through clear feedback, structured coaching, and follow-through.

• Comfort using CRM, prospecting, and sales engagement tools, and translating performance data into action.

• High ownership, clear communication, and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced startup. Genuine curiosity about AI and its impact on business operations.

Nice To Have

• Experience building or scaling an SDR team at an early-stage startup.

• Experience selling AI or technical products, or working with contact-center and customer-experience buyers.

• Familiarity with HubSpot, Nooks, Apollo, ZoomInfo, or similar sales tools.

If you’re excited to develop great SDRs, build a strong outbound team, and help shape the sales motion at an early-stage AI startup, we’d love to chat.
