Automation QA Engineer

About Incard

Incard’s mission is to build the financial operating system for entrepreneurs.

We are focused on creating a system where business banking, financial tools, and application logic are coordinated into a single control layer.

Through the app store, entrepreneurs and developers can build industry-specific functionality as their business evolves.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer to own and scale Incard’s automated quality assurance strategy.

You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing robust, reliable, and scalable QA automation across backend, frontend, mobile, and integrations. This role is critical in ensuring Incard can ship fast without compromising correctness, especially in a regulated fintech environment.

This role is ideal for someone who sees QA as engineering, not validation and who enjoys building frameworks, tooling, and quality systems that teams trust.

What You’ll Do

Own QA Automation End-to-End

• Design, build, and maintain Incard’s automation testing strategy

• Own test coverage across backend APIs, frontend, mobile, and integrations

• Treat test automation as first-class infrastructure

Automation Frameworks & Tooling

• Build and maintain automated test frameworks for:

  • API and backend services

  • Web applications

  • Mobile applications

  • Integrations with external providers (banks, PSPs, partners)

• Ensure tests are reliable, fast, maintainable, and easy to extend

CI/CD & Release Quality

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

• Enforce quality gates before releases

• Reduce regressions and production incidents through automation

Quality Strategy & Coverage

• Define test strategies across unit, integration, E2E, and regression testing

• Identify high-risk areas and design automation around critical flows

• Ensure strong coverage for money movement, cards, analytics, and workflows

Collaboration & Enablement

• Work closely with Backend, Frontend, Mobile, and Product teams

• Help engineers write testable code and improve testability

• Participate in design reviews to anticipate edge cases and failure modes

Reliability & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor flaky tests and improve reliability

• Continuously improve test execution speed and signal quality

• Contribute to post-incident analysis with a quality lens

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in QA Automation or Software Engineering in Test

• Strong experience building automation frameworks from scratch

• Solid understanding of API testing, integration testing, and E2E testing

• Experience testing distributed systems and asynchronous workflows

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated release processes

• Strong understanding of software quality principles and risk-based testing

• Clear communicator who collaborates effectively with engineering teams

Nice to Have

• Experience testing fintech, payments, or other regulated systems

• Experience with mobile automation (iOS / Android)

• Familiarity with performance or load testing

• Experience testing event-driven or workflow-based systems

Mindset We Look For

• Quality-as-a-product mindset — you build systems, not checklists

• Obsession with correctness, reliability, and trust

• Pragmatic engineer — strong opinions, loosely held

• Low ego, highly collaborative, and proactive

• Comfortable challenging assumptions when quality is at risk

• Startup DNA — ownership, speed, and accountability

Benefits:

• Competitive cash-based compensation

• Incard stock options

• 25 days of paid time off per year, plus bank holidays and your birthday off

• Global health insurance and unlimited paid sick leave
