It's more than a job
As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. And by transporting medicines, toys and important machine parts, you are not only delivering goods, you are making small and big moments possible for people all around the world. At Kuehne+Nagel, our contribution counts in more ways than we imagine.
Where claims meet control
When cargo is lost or damaged at sea, someone has to make sure the claim is handled properly, paid correctly and recorded accurately. In this role, that person is you.
Kuehne+Nagel’s Anchor Risk Services team looks after the Group’s Global Marine Liability Insurance Program. As our Global Risk Controlling Specialist in Singapore, you will take charge of the financial administration, controlling, reporting and claims payments for Blue Anchor Line (BAL). You will sit between claims operations, finance and insurers, and keep claims moving to a fair, timely settlement.
What your days will look like
You might start by reviewing and approving a claim settlement within agreed authority levels. Then you will check in with a local insurer to speed up a decision, and finish by turning the month’s loss statistics into a report for management.
- Control and administer claims handling and claims invoicing for BAL under the Global Marine Liability Insurance Program.
- Review, approve and process claim settlements in line with authority levels and procedures.
- Keep communication with local insurers clear and timely, so decisions and payments are consistent.
- Build and improve claims administration guidelines, workflows and communication routines.
- Support the Risk & Claims Centre on procedures, standards and best practice.
- Prepare and share management reports, loss statistics and financial data, and build dashboards and KPIs that help leaders decide.
- Make sure claims documentation and financial records are complete and accurate for internal and external audits.
- Look for ways to automate and streamline claims and controlling work.
Requirements
You are detail-oriented, analytical and comfortable owning a process end to end. You communicate clearly with people at every level, and you like finding better ways to do things.
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Logistics or a related field.
- At least 3 years in claims administration, insurance, finance, controlling or risk management.
- Knowledge of the freight forwarding business and logistics processes and systems.
- Understanding of international transport, maritime and marine insurance law, or equivalent experience.
