We foster inclusive spaces for students to explore identity, build leadership skills, and celebrate Jewish life in ways that are meaningful and relevant. We are proudly pluralistic, student-centered, and deeply relational.

Vision

We envision a vibrant, inclusive, and joyful Jewish community where every student in the North Bay feels seen, supported, and inspired to grow—Jewishly, personally, and professionally. Sonoma Hillel will be recognized as a central and trusted part of campus life and the broader Jewish community in Sonoma County, helping make the region a welcoming place for Jewish students now and into the future.

Our Values: We believe in the inherent worth, value, humanity, and dignity of each person. As Jewish tradition teaches, each of us is created b'tzelem Elohim, in the Divine image. To that end, we are committed to pluralistic Jewish life on campus, a diverse workforce, and the values of inclusivity. We embrace all the identities, experiences, and backgrounds each person brings. We respectfully welcome students, professionals, and community members of all abilities, races, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, observances, and interfaith backgrounds, so that we can work together to contribute to, and experience the full richness of, Jewish life and community.

Sonoma Hillel is affiliated with Hillel International. Hillel International enriches the lives of Jewish students so they may enrich the Jewish people and the world, and envisions a world where every student is inspired to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning and Israel.

About Hillel International

In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at nearly 1,000 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders.

Hillel is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an accepting and inclusive environment for all.
