Stability & Documentation Manager

We're so happy you're here! Thank you for checking our job out and we hope to have the chance to meet you in our interview process!

About the role

We're looking for a Stability & Documentation Manager to join our Gummy R&D team. While our formulation team is focused on getting a gummy to taste and perform the way it should, this role is focused on proving it stays that way, and keeping every document that defines a SKU accurate and current.

You'll design and run the stability testing program across our gummy portfolio, determine test method compatibility, and negotiate directly with the labs we use for testing. You'll also be responsible for the full document suite on every SKU, including specs and SFPs, and you'll be the one staging specifications and signing off on them. This position reports to the Director, R&D and sits within the Product organization. Built for someone from formulation or product development who's ready to step into a role centered on judgment and accountability.

This role is part of our remote HQ! We have a fully remote, high-trust work environment - and also come together on a biannual basis for amazing off-sites where we can connect IRL.

In this role, you will:

• Run the stability testing program for the gummy portfolio, including setting up protocols, timepoints, tracking results against shelf-life targets, and presenting data to relevant stakeholders as it rolls in.
• Decide whether a proposed or existing test method is actually right for a given matrix, and push back or find something better when it isn't.
• Handle price and scope negotiations with third-party testing labs.
• Review and maintain the document suite for every SKU, including specs, SFPs, and anything that feeds into them, so it stays accurate and audit ready.
• Stage product specifications from draft through final sign-off.
• Catch stability or documentation issues early, things like ingredient degradation, off-notes developing over time, or packaging interactions, before they turn into a launch or quality problem.
• Collect and review formulation and ingredient document for assessment
• Work with Quality, Operations, and our co-manufacturers to keep specs, test methods, and stability protocols consistent across the supply chain.
• Keep a clean paper trail across the document suite so any SKU's history can be reconstructed if needed.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has 4+ years in R&D, quality, or product development in supplements, food, or a similar regulated category, ideally with gummy or confectionery experience.
• Has designed and run stability studies, not just reviewed them, including validating test methods for complex matrices.
• Knows enough about gummy chemistry to tell when a test method won't hold up, whether that's a detection limit issue, matrix interference, or the wrong extraction method.
• Has negotiated with contract testing labs before, on price, scope, or turnaround.
• Is comfortable owning specs end to end and signing off on them.
• Has a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, serve as primary owner of document accuracy.
• Can communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, co-manufacturers, and outside labs.

Approach to the role:

This person treats stability data and documentation as the actual source of truth, not paperwork to get through. They're comfortable signing off, pushing back, or saying "not yet" on their own, without needing someone else to make the call first. They build processes that hold up across SKUs instead of solving the same problem every time it comes up, and they negotiate well with labs while keeping everyone else in the loop on where specs and stability stand.

Compensation & Benefits:

At Grüns, we're committed to providing a competitive total compensation package — grounded in market data that considers our size, stage, industry, and location. For this role, the base salary range is $115,000 -$130,000 plus bonus depending on experience, paired with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and growth of our team.

A bit about us...

At Grüns, we believe that foundational nutrition should be simple and convenient for everyone. We're dedicated to bringing comprehensive and real nutrition to you through our gummies, formulated from 60 nutrient-dense and whole-food ingredients. Simply enjoy a grab-and-go snack pack of gummies daily whenever fits best in your schedule and wherever life takes you.

Like you, we were disappointed. There’s an infinite number of “nutrition” companies, all focused on what’s best for them — not what’s best for you. Hundreds of products to sell you on, low-quality ingredients, and small nutrient doses. We’ve seen it all.

So we decided it was time to fix it. No more choking on and popping pills like a pharmacy. No more clean-up and disgust from gross powders. And no more cobbling together handfuls to dozens of supplements. Grüns is comprehensive nutrition, made convenient and delicious.

What we care about...

Be the Best: We hold ourselves, our teams, and our partners to an incredibly high standard - and we raise the bar constantly. "We've never done this before" isn't an excuse here. It's an invitation.

Own It: We act like our name is on the door. That means taking complete ownership of outcomes, collaborating deeply, working through roadblocks - not around them - and never waiting for someone else to solve the problem. Great owners are great partners.

Drive Impact, Urgently: We measure impact, not effort. We work smart and hard, move fast, and use every tool at our disposal - including AI - to focus our energy where it matters most.

Compensation & Perks:

For every role, we aim to have highly competitive compensation and opportunity for impact and career growth.

Everyone at Grüns works hard, but we believe in wellness and balance too. We have super strong benefits coverage -- for you and your family, generous PTO, free Grüns, and a few more perks centered around health and well-being that we can't wait to tell you about!
