Legal Operations Specialist

You love finding order in operational chaos. If you look at a broken process and immediately start mapping a better way, you belong here. This is a chance to bridge the gap between legal constraints and practical, technical solutions.

About JetBrains

We create intelligent software development tools for developers and teams. More than 15 million users, over 300,000 companies, and 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100 rely on our products to solve real, complex problems. Our mission is simple: make development teams more productive and AI adoptable at scale.

What you’ll do

Our Legal team is scaling, and we need someone to help optimize how we operate. Your work will connect the legal, technology, operations, and project management functions. The role involves removing friction, reducing risk, and making the Legal team more efficient. You’ll take ownership of operational projects, map out workflows, and turn complex business requirements into practical solutions. Working closely with the Legal Operations Manager, you’ll partner with the Legal, Procurement, IT, and Security teams to make sure the right tools and processes are in place – and that people actually use them.

Day to day, you will:

• Map current workflows and build better, more efficient alternatives.
• Run legal operations projects from the discovery phase straight through to implementation.
• Talk to stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate them into clear requirements and action plans.
• Manage legal technology vendors, handling onboarding, renewals, and ongoing evaluations.
• Track operational data to figure out what’s working, what’s not, and where we should focus next.
• Help the team adopt new tools and processes.

What you’ll bring

• A sense of ownership. You’re comfortable taking responsibility, figuring things out, and moving work forward without waiting for step-by-step instructions.
• Structured problem-solving. You know how to make sense of ambiguous situations and turn them into practical, realistic solutions.
• Clear communication. You build relationships easily and can communicate clearly with everyone from legal experts to software engineers.
• Precision. You care about the details and take pride in producing high-quality work.
• Good judgment. You ask the right questions before trying to solve problems.
• A continuous improvement mindset. You naturally look for ways to make things cleaner, faster, and easier for others.

What you’ll need

• A proven background in leading operational or process-improvement projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in legal operations, business operations, project management, consulting, product operations, process improvement, or a similar operational role.
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting complex business requirements.
• A track record of turning business needs into structured implementation plans.
• Hands-on experience mapping out processes and driving continuous improvement.
• Experience managing vendor relationships or implementing new technology platforms.
• Familiarity working in cross-functional environments, particularly alongside legal, compliance, IT, or risk teams.

What success looks like

Within your first year, you’ll take full ownership of key legal operations initiatives. You’ll have set up structured ways to gather requirements and deliver projects, making priorities clear to everyone involved. By improving our processes and managing our legal tech stack effectively, you’ll help the Legal team work faster, make better decisions, and dedicate their focus and time where it matters.
