Rolling Stone: Account Manager
Rolling Stone is seeking an Account Manager to join our New York-based revenue team, reporting to the Vice President, Revenue Strategy & Operations. This new role will serve as a critical link between Sales, Marketing, Revenue Operations, Ad Operations, Program Execution, and our advertising partners.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented, and client-focused media professional who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Account Manager will support the full lifecycle of advertising partnerships—from RFP response and media planning through campaign execution, reporting, and wrap-up—while serving as primary day-to-day contact for active New York territory clients.
Rolling Stone values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for a book of clients, providing proactive communication, campaign updates, reporting, and deliverable tracking.
- Partner with Sales to manage RFPs, develop strategic media plans, and create solutions aligned with client objectives, KPIs, budgets, and buying behaviors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate sold concepts into actionable campaign plans with clearly documented deliverables, timelines, budgets, contractual commitments, and measurement requirements.
- Manage campaign kickoffs, internal handoffs, status updates, pacing, and performance—proactively identifying risks and coordinating solutions across teams.
- Use campaign data and insights to develop client-facing wrap reports and identify optimization, renewal, upsell, and incremental revenue opportunities.
- Maintain accurate campaign information across internal systems, support billing reconciliation, and help establish scalable account management processes and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in account management, client services, media planning, sales planning, or a related digital advertising role, preferably at a publisher, media company, or agency.
- Strong understanding of the digital media campaign lifecycle, from RFP and media planning through launch, optimization, reporting, and billing.
- Proven ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex campaign details into clear, client-friendly updates.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace required, with experience in Salesforce, Prisma, Google Ad Manager, Google Analytics, and comScore preferred.
