Job Title: Assistant Manager - Training
Location: Ambasamudram
Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to establish and sustain a highly proficient training culture focused on job safety, job-specific part analysis, and quality system requirements for all newly recruited employees in Dyeing and Finishing operations. This training program is designed to equip employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively, ensuring safe working practices, adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and consistent production quality. Through structured training, employees will be prepared to contribute to achieving production targets on time while maintaining high-quality standards. The objective is to ensure that all new employees become fully competent and job-ready within a period of six weeks.
Principal Accountabilities:
Recruit new male, female, contract employees based on job requirements for Synthetic, Lab, Cotton, Finishing.
Design training manuals as per organizational needs.
Conduct one-day orientation training for new male, female and contract employees.
Conduct written tests on Safety and SOP knowledge.
Retrain and re-test employees who do not meet the required marks.
Monitor and review employee performance along with managers.
Maintain discipline and ensure orderliness in the workplace.
Maintain good industrial relations between department and HR, Build teamwork within and across shifts.
Promote effective communication within all sections.
Develop and ensure safe work practices as per safety regulations in dyeing and finishing floor.
Monitor and control employee absenteeism and attrition.
Motivate employees to give suggestions on Safety, Quality and Productivity through RISE.
Evaluate employee performance using PAT (Part Assessment Test) forms.
Conduct final performance review with Department Manager/IE Manager after training completion.
Update and revise training manuals based on changes in work and market conditions.
Provide multi-skill training to approved employees within and across the department.
Identify poor performers and arrange refresher training as per department head advice.
Monitor behaviour-based safety practices on the shop floor.
Organize and manage the Training & Development Centre.
Coordinate plant visits for new visitors, Handle HoloLens training activities.
Prepare PPTs and videos related to Health & Safety and sustainability.
Participate in Shift Safety Briefings (SSB) to promote safety and quality practices.
Support to TaRA (Task Risk Assessment) assessment to ensure zero accidents in the dye house.
Improve operator morale through regular performance reviews.
Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate effectively with operators.
Identify and develop employees with high potential.
Eliminate workplace hazards & maintain a safe 6S environment standard in the workplace by training.
Organize and coordinate department safety committee meetings.
Track safety records such as: Safety suggestions, Unsafe acts, Caution slips, PPE issuance and replacements.
