Job Description
The Role
BAE Systems is seeking a strategic Sr. Manager, HR Compliance, to join our HR Compliance team. This is a high-impact, enterprise-wide leadership role designed for a professional who excels at the intersection of employment law, corporate governance, and operational excellence. Reporting to the Sr. Director of HR Compliance, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of human resources compliance programs. This role ensures that the organization adheres to federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as internal corporate governance and defense industry regulations.
Your Impact
As the subject matter expert for HR compliance, your influence will be felt across the entire employee lifecycle. You will lead the strategy for workplace accommodations (ADA, PWFA), ensuring that our approach to inclusivity and accessibility is consistent, fair, and legally sound. From overseeing the critical execution of Affirmative Action Plans (AAPs) and managing complex government reporting—including specialized mandates in California and Massachusetts—to governing our employee record retention and policy standards, your work will mitigate risk and protect the organization’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Oversight & Governance
- Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and interpret changes in federal, state, and local employment legislation and partners with the business, COEs, legal, and other stakeholders on the implementation of those laws.
- Reporting: Oversee the development and execution of 503 and VEVRAA Affirmative Action Plans (AAPs). Manage all government reporting obligations, including specialized state mandates such as the California and Massachusetts Pay Reports.
- Employment Lifecycle Compliance: Provide oversight for I-9/E-Verify processes, compliant onboarding procedures, and the management of state and local notices, including the distribution and maintenance of employment posters.
- Workplace Accommodations: Lead the enterprise-wide strategy for workplace accommodations (ADA, PWFA, state and local), establishing standardized processes and guidelines to ensure consistent, fair, and legally compliant outcomes. Serve as the escalation point for complex cases and the interactive process.
- Training & Vendors: Oversee HR Training initiatives related to compliance and managing third-party Vendor Management relationships to ensure service providers meet regulatory standards.
Audit & Risk Management
- Pay Analyses: Lead the Company’s annual pay non-discrimination analyses to mitigate legal risk.
